Event & Social Discovery Platform
Eventorize
Full event discovery experience
Eventorize is an event discovery platform focused on improving follow-through event attendance. It helps users find relevant events, purchase tickets, and stay on track through reminders that support commitment over time.
THE PROBLEM
Most event platforms focus on helping users discover events and purchase tickets, but provide limited support beyond that point. Users often express interest in events, save them, or even buy tickets, yet struggle to follow through due to competing priorities and information overload. At the same time, attending events alone presents a social barrier. Many users feel unmotivated or uncomfortable committing without a companion, particularly for networking, workshops, or new experiences.
FOMO : Forgotten opportunities
Users discover events they care about, save them, or buy tickets, but struggle to follow through. Information overload, competing priorities, and time gaps between discovery and the event cause interest to fade, leading to missed opportunities and frustration.
Missing social support
Attending events alone creates a social barrier. Without accountability or a companion, many users hesitate to commit, especially when stepping outside their comfort zone. As a result, users miss events they value, while platforms see lower attendance and engagement.

RESEARCH
I conducted in-depth user interviews followed by questionnaires with 8 people. The interviewees were between the ages of 20–45, digitally literate, and actively using online platforms for personal development, networking, or hobbies. This group was chosen due to their frequent exposure to events and high likelihood of experiencing follow-through challenges.

-
Information overload & forgetfulness
Users often discover events they care about but forget them over time due to competing priorities and constant digital stimuli.

-
Need for social accountability
Many users expressed hesitation to attend events alone and felt more motivated when attendance involved a companion or shared commitment.

-
Commitment over Interest
Interest in an event does not guarantee follow-through. Users valued tools that help turn intent into action.

-
Secondary needs
Participants also mentioned the importance of basic event organization tools and more relevant, interest and location-based discovery.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

KEY FEATURES

Clear, adjustable notifications
Just the right amount of notifications reduces the mental effort required to manage events and minimizes reliance on external tools, and help users prioritize their events.

Event matching feature
A built-in, privacy-first matching feature allows users to connect with others attending the same event. By enabling shared commitment and companionship, the design lowers the emotional barrier to attendance and encourages users to step outside their comfort zone.
Trust and safety concerns
The flow included identity verification, clear terms and conditions, controlled interaction stages, and the ability to cancel or reschedule matches. These were implemented to create a sense of legitimacy while maintaining user privacy.

Guided flows
Onboarding, purchasing, and matching were designed as guided, step-by-step processes to reduce uncertainty.
